From regional roots to a global platform — over two decades of evolution, focused on international clients and long-term value.

1998

An Argentinian private group acquires Penncorp Argentina, comprised of a life insurance company and a distribution platform.

1999

Penncorp's operations are rebranded as ARGENTINA SALUD y VIDA S.A., offering health and life insurance.

2000

Penncorp's distribution platform is transformed to grow life insurance offerings and to serve as the administrator for extended warranty products of new vehicles.

2007

Shareholders from Argentina Salud y Vida and Marketing One Argentina expand their ventures into the U.S.

2011

Criteria, an Argentinian investment fund, acquires ARGENTINA SALUD y VIDA. Following the acquisition, the company is rebranded as AR-VIDA.

2015

M1 Specialty II is incorporated in Puerto Rico with a Class 5 insurance license, focusing on underwriting specialty products for the international health insurance sector. In collaboration with Boston Scientific, the company launches Cardiomas, cardiac treatment coverage for clients with cardiac conditions.

2016

M1 Specialty II launches a second specialty health product, CardioVida 24, marketed across Latin America.

2019

M1 Specialty's parent acquires Boston Scientific's stake in M1 Specialty II, becoming its sole proprietor. The company changes strategic direction away from specialty health products and begins to look for international opportunities.

2022

M1 Specialty Assurance Ltd is licensed in the British Commonwealth of St. Kitts and Nevis, after its parent group acquires the M1 Specialty brand and international expertise. Entering the unit-linked life insurance market, M1 launches innovative solutions and expands its global presence, marking a new era of growth.

2024

M1 Specialty opens an office in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). Dubai is the Middle East representative office for the M1 Group. From Dubai, M1 will expand operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
